Arsenal have joined the chase for ₤ 50million-rated German striker Timo Werner, according to reports.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea have already been linked with the 21-year-old, who has 16 goals and four assists for RB Leipzig this season.
Those clubs were put on alert earlier this week following reports claiming the Germany international has rejected a new contract with the Bundesliga side.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have joined their Premier League rivals in the race for the in-demand hitman.
Werner was the highest-scoring German player in the Bundesliga last season with 21 goals in 32 appearances as Leipzig finished runners-up to Bayern Munich in their first ever top flight season.
Arsene Wenger is a big fan and the Arsenal boss reportedly sent scouts to watch the striker at Leipzig’s Europa League clash against Napoli on Thursday – where he scored twice in a 3-1 victory in Italy.
Werner also has seven goals in ten games for Germany, and he could link up with international team-mates Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Shkodran Mustafi if he moves to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
