7 for 7 – Fantasy football scout: 7 bargain strikers under 7m
1. Javier Hernandez, West Ham – £7.0m
The former Manchester United man was extremely popular during his previous spell in The Premier League, largely due to his better than 1 in 3 average for Man Utd, despite most of these coming from the substitutes’ bench.
He reached double-digit goal returns in successive seasons in Germany. He is also Mexico’s all-time top scorer with 48 goals from 96 caps.
2. Steven Mounie, Huddersfield – £6.0m
A club record signing from French side Montpellier. Standing tall at 6ft 3in, he scored an impressive 14 goals in Ligue 1 last season, six of them with his head.
If he can settle in quickly and adapt to the pace of the Premier League, the 22-year-old will almost certainly play week in week out.
3. Jay Rodriguez, West Brom – £6.0m
Rodriguez endured a tough time with injuries recently and missed the entirety of the 2014/15 season. Things didn’t improve much last season thanks to an ankle problem.
However he is still only 28 and the potential for Rodriguez to deliver is still there. He now has the opportunity to again prove he can deliver goals, this time round for West Brom.
No doubt he will hoping to try and get back into the England fray also.
4. Kelechi Iheanacho, Leicester – £7.0m
The former Manchester City player looks like great value at £25m, at least in this day and age of crazy spending. He looks even better value for you and your Fantasy team at a mere 7 mil.
Iheanacho will get game time and is currently selected by only 1.6% of FPL players, so he could be your secret weapon.
5. Tammy Abraham, Swansea – £5.5m
With Fernando Llorente still recovering from a fractured arm, there’s a huge opportunity for this youngster to get some real game time at Swansea.
He was impressive on loan at Bristol City last season and returned 26 goals in 48 appearances.
Abraham looks like a smart and cost effective option at just £5.5m!
6. Dwight Gayle, Newcastle’s – £6.5m
Already an experienced and proven Premier League player, Newcastle’s Dwight Gayle is a steal at £6.5m, who looks set for a starting slot.
He scored an impressive 23 times in the Championship last season.
7. Manolo Gabbiadini, Southampton – £7.0m
Manolo Gabbiadini is a sure fire starter up front for Southampton who impressed last season with 6 goals from 11 games, although goals dried later in the season. Definitely one to consider.
